David Sharpe, LLB, LLM, MBA
David is the Chief Executive Officer of Bridging Finance Inc. and is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm and ensuring sustainable growth is achieved. David has over 25 years of financial services industry experience, in roles such as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer for leading financial organizations, and previously was the head of investigations for the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada.
David is Chair Emeritus of First Nations University of Canada. David was a member of the Board of Governors for close to 7 years and served as Board Chair. He is a Board member of the Economic Development Corporation for Eabametoong (Fort Hope) First Nation. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University and is Vice-Chair of the Dean’s Council at Queen’s University, Faculty of Law. David was recently featured in The Canadian Encyclopedia and was appointed to the Board of Directors of Historica Canada.
David is a Mohawk and member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (Tyendinaga). David is a lawyer and has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 1997. He has an LLB from Queen’s University, an LLM in Securities Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. David has also received the Professional Director Certification from the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Saskatchewan/University of Regina. In 2015, David was named to the Diversity 50 in Canada.
Natasha was previously the Chief Credit Officer for Sun Life Financial where she was responsible for creating risk policy for the company’s $110-billion global portfolio of managed assets. Prior to that, Natasha held the position of Vice-President at Coopers and Lybrand and went on to spend over 10 years at BMO Financial Group where she led various teams in risk assessment and corporate finance. In 2010, Natasha was named as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40. In 2015, Natasha was named to the Diversity 50 in Canada. Natasha is a director of private and non-profit companies. She holds a PhD and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
Senior VP, Sales
Ian is responsible for the development and growth of the firm’s sales activities through the securities brokerage channel across Canada. Prior to joining the organization, Ian was the Vice-President, Sales of an investment management firm for over ten years. He gained valuable experience during that time in the investment fund industry helping the company raise approximately $1.6 billion in assets, predominantly in exempt market products. He also has experience in the capital markets through TSX-listed closed-end fund offerings. Ian has close to 25 years of financial services industry experience in sales roles with several leading Canadian financial services companies. Ian is fully bilingual and graduated from York University with a B.A.
Directly prior to joining Bridging Finance as a Director, Scott was a PM and Director at EHP Funds, an equity long/short hedge fund, prior to that he was lead portfolio manager at a number of leading asset management firms, namely of Tangerine Bank(formerly ING Direct), GenFund Asset Management, and Sherpa Asset Management. Over the years, Scott has benefited from having worked at three of the world’s most prominent asset managers, namely Merrill Lynch & Co., Charles Schwab & Co. and Macquarie Bank of Australia. His primary focus has been delivering on numerous mandates to high net worth individuals, endowments, foundations and pension plans.
Brian Champ, CFA
Brian participates in all aspects of Bridging Finance’s private investment management activities, including the origination, evaluation and monitoring of investments, as well as operations. Brian was a corporate banker with a wealth of experience in risk management and credit analysis. Prior to joining Bridging Finance, Brian was a Director for Bank of Montreal. Brian holds a BA Hons (Economics) from the University of Toronto and is a CFA Charterholder.
Graham Marr, CPA, CA, CFA

Graham participates in all aspects of Bridging Finance’s private investment management activities, including the origination, evaluation and monitoring of investments, as well as operations. Prior to joining Bridging Finance, Graham worked in KPMG’s Transactions and Advisory practice in the areas of restructuring, corporate finance and due diligence services. Graham is a Chartered Accountant and is a CFA Charterholder. Graham is a graduate of the HBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Robb participates in all aspects of Bridging Finance’s private investment management activities, including the origination, evaluation and monitoring of investments, as well as operations. Robb has over 15 years of commercial lending experience, both as an originator and risk adjudicator. Previously, Robb was the Sales Manager at TD Commercial Banking where he was accountable for the growth of a book of business in excess of $2.3 Billion in commercial loans and deposits. Robb holds a BA (Economics) from the University of Victoria.
Senior Manager Corporate Finance and Fund Accounting
Azeez joined bridging Finance Inc. in July 2018. He works on the finance and accounting team. Azeez is responsible for managing the fund accounting process and the review of monthly NAV calculations. Prior to joining Bridging, Azeez worked for Citco Funds Services, overseeing funds with assets under management of over $5 billion. Azeez holds a Masters of Finance degree from Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary’s University(Halifax) and is a CFA Charterholder.
Chief Compliance Officer
Andrew is responsible for the oversight of the firm’s compliance system. Prior to joining Bridging Finance, Andrew was a Senior Compliance Officer at CI Financial. He later went on to hold the position Senior Manager, Compliance of an investment management firm in Toronto with approximately $1.6 billion under management. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Fordham University in New York, NY. Andrew also holds a Masters in Business Law from the University of Toronto.
Dennis has over 30 years of broad based large corporate and commercial lending experience, both as an originator, risk adjudicator and restructuring specialist. Previously, Dennis was the Chief Risk Officer of Integrated Asset Management Corp. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of CIT Business Credit Canada Inc., which was a joint venture between CIT Group Inc. and CIBC. Dennis also previously held senior head office management positions at CIBC in risk management/credit and corporate finance. Dennis is a member of Bridging’s Credit Committee and advises on all potential Bridging transactions.
